We invest in local police officers to serve and protect our communities. We oppose them being used by ICE as federal immigration agents under 287(g) agreements. We expect our community police to preserve public trust and neighborhood safety. This is why 90% of NH police departments have declined to participate in the 287(g) program. Keeping it local is the New Hampshire way.
We oppose our local police being used to seize and incarcerate neighbors in the name of immigration enforcement. The PETITION is supported by an array of New Hampshire residents, young and old, Republicans, Democrats and Independents. We are united in opposing the use of local police to assist ICE agents in intimidating families and disrupting community trust and tranquility.
